WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?
Osteopaths are manual therapists that perform hands on treatment within their sessions.
Osteopaths are AHPRA (government body) registered health professionals.
To become an Osteopath takes 5 years at university, our training involves an extensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical/orthopedic examinations and musculoskeletal treatment.
We are whole body focused practitioners. We focus not just on the symptoms, but above and below the site of pain/injury to gain a broader understanding of the root cause.
As Osteopaths we believe that the body has the capacity to heal itself but sometimes, we experience roadblocks that affect our recovery. Our goal is to guide you on the right path necessary to heal and recover.
We also look at other factors such as sleep, stress and lifestyle factors that may be impairing recovery and implement protocols to help with this.
There are currently 4 universities that offer Osteopathy in Australia. Currently, no course exists in South Australia and this is why Osteopaths are few and far between compared with other states!
OUR OSTEOPATHIC FRAMEWORK
-
PROTECT
We look to desensitize the areas of concern with our osteopathy treatments. We provide an immediate plan to reduce your symptoms as fast as possible.
-
PREPARE
Once we reduce your symptoms, we look to discuss and implement interventions that will support your recovery and get you back to doing the things you love.
-
PERFORM
Whether it's getting back into gardening or back into bench pressing, we find the right strategies and approaches specific to you and your circumstances.
