  • Realistically, this is highly unlikely. Some conditions may take several sessions to see a reduction in symptoms however each case will vary. We will outline your needs and anticipated recovery time during your consultation.

  • No, GP referrals are not required to make a booking. We do accept Chronic Disease Management (CDM) and Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA).

  • Absolutely! We accept all health funds. Just ensure that you have extras cover specifically for ‘osteopathy’ with your health insurer and they will be able to tell you exactly how much is covered as the rebate is dependent on each provider and level of coverage. We also have instant private health rebates available onsite.

  • Generally, shorts and T-shirt/singlet are preferred or loose-fitting clothing as it is less likely to restrict any technique performed. Please avoid wearing restrictive jeans if possible!

  • A session will typically start with outlining your past medical history and nature of your complaint/s. Information gathered from the history will determine what areas are being assessed and treated.

    We then perform an examination to assess for deficits in mobility, flexibility and strength.

    Following this, you can expect a treatment consisting of techniques that may include; soft tissue massage, articulation, joint mobilization, dry needling, manipulation and stretching.

    Finally, every movement will be re-assessed to identify improvements. Advice as well as rehabilitation exercises to support your recovery may be given. We also discuss if a follow-up appointment is needed and when you can expect to improve.

  • Your osteopathy consult at CONNECT should not cause excessive discomfort. Your practitioner will aim to make you as comfortable as possible throughout the treatment.

    If you are not familiar with osteopathic treatment, there are techniques that can cause some short-term discomfort. You may experience mild soreness for a day or two after treatment, similar to that felt after mild exercise. If this soreness persists or increases significantly, call or email CONNECT to discuss your concerns.

  • Absolutely not! We wouldn’t pressure you into any technique that you don’t feel comfortable with. We have a legal obligation to inform you of the risks and benefits associated with everything that we do. We also have a variety of other techniques and protocols we can use for your symptoms if you are uncomfortable with adjustments and or dry needling. There are many roads to Rome!
